Hello and the Happy New Year to you and your family!

I'm excited to share with you that I have a piece of my artwork in one of our local galleries, Rgallary, located on Pearl Street.  If you live in Boulder or are passing through, please take some time to stop in and have a look.  The piece will come down on 15th January.

I little bit about my painting that I titled simply, “hand with crocus flowers”. About two years ago I read an article about the women who take the stigmas out of the crocus flowers to sell as saffron. I have always loved the rich colour that saffron can impart to rice and I was fascinated to read about the painstaking and sometimes tedious processes of removing all those tiny stigmas by hand. The article and the photo of the women stayed with me. Fast forward to the end of last year when I came across a reference photo holding the crocus flowers and I knew I had to paint it. The piece surprised me as it came together really quickly. I hope you enjoy seeing the piece as much as I enjoyed painting it and if you do stop by Rgallery and see it in person, please let me know!
